Observation and Consultation Services
Our Statewide Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education teachers and leaders are available to provide professional assistance in determining the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students. Assistance to districts and schools may include:
- Classroom observation and consultation support to:
General and special education teachers
Educational interpreters
Individualized Education Plan team members including speech/language pathologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and school psychologists
Program administrators
- Program evaluation involving observations of the physical setting, groupings, and the instructional model used. This can include curriculum evaluation and both formative and summative assessment input.
- Demonstration/modeling of instructional strategies
- Consultation with parents or guardians
- Individualized Education Plan meeting attendance
