Certified Teacher Assistance Options
Assistance from a certified teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing may involve communication, academics, independent living, recreation, socialization, career and education, transition, college preparation and study techniques, self-advocacy, and use of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and assistive technology.
Assistance may be provided through:
- Classroom observations and recommendations
- Resource, curriculum, and materials recommendations
- Direct one-on-one or small group instruction
- Direct push-in services to co-teach and/or support the professionals in the classroom environment
- Indirect services to support the educational team in modifying environments, curriculum, and/or materials to meet each student's accommodations and educational needs
- Technology support for audiological equipment
