Blind and Visually Impaired Education Overview

Through contracts with local school districts, Blind and Visually Impaired Education strives to meet the needs of students who are blind or visually impaired throughout the state. A team of specialized professionals works with local special education directors, teachers, and medical professionals to ensure that the students reach their maximum potential.

Our Program

Our Statewide Blind and Visually Impaired Education Program offers local school districts:

• Functional vision and media learning assessments with expanded core curriculum screenings
• Orientation and mobility (independent travel) training
• Access technology assistance and training for students and teachers
