Statewide Interpreting Services Overview

We believe citizens of South Carolina who are deaf or hard of hearing have the right to quality professional services and access to meaningful communication. We strive to be the statewide leader by:

Statewide Interpreting Services employs highly qualified staff and contract interpreters to meet interpreting needs across the entire state in a variety of settings including, but not limited to: 

  • Educational (all levels)
  • Medical (appointments, therapy, hospitals, counseling)
  • Legal
  • Federal, State, and Local Agencies
  • Business (meetings, trainings, interviews)
  • Conferences
  • Performances
  • Social Services
  • Non-profits

Interpreting services are available on-site and virtually via HIPAA and FERPA compliant video conferencing platform.

Interpreters with Statewide Interpreting Services meet or exceed requirements of the SC Sign language Interpreters Act and guidelines set forth by the ADA
