Become a Contract Interpreter
Please complete the following steps:
1. If you are not yet a registered vendor with the state, go to: https://procurement.sc.gov/doing-biz/registration to complete your vender registration and W9. Then, click on “Vendor Registration” within the Vendors/Contractors box. You will see the instructions for registering. Please note that this can take up to 48 hours.

2. Go to: http://treasurer.sc.gov/media/4717/evpinfo.pdf to read how to enroll for electronic vendor payment, then go to: http://treasurer.sc.gov/media/49359/Evp-Enroll.pdf to access and complete the enrollment form.
3. Go to: https://providerportal.dss.sc.gov/#/login to submit a request for your Central Registry request:
- Click, Submit a Central Registry (One Time Request)
- I am a: Other (individual, etc)
- Purpose of the request: I am requesting a search ONLY of the Central Registry and Child Abuse and Neglect databases
- Purpose of: Employment
- Results returned by: Email Address
- Requester Name: Your name
- Email Address: Your email address.
4. After you have a vendor number, submit the following information to Eric J. Weber, Ed.D., Director Statewide Interpreting Services at eweber@scsdb.org
- Vendor #
- Resume
- Proof of all professional credentials and assessments (national certification, EIPA score, EIPA-WT, etc.)
- PDF of your Central Registry Request
5. Once approved, you will be contacted and given information to:
- Participate in a brief screening and/or interview
- Compete a drug screening
- Submit negative TB test results
- Sign, date and return a contract/agreement
