Just Enough to Know Better, A Braille Primer books

New Resources for Parents

Parents have new resources to learn sign language and braille. The books 1,000 Words to Sign and Just Enough to Know Better, A Braille Primer were given to elementary school parents to use with their students at home.

Galena Gaw, director of library services, had the idea to provide the books and found funding through a Donors Choose grant. “The braille primer will help parents learn the basics of braille code and assist their blind children with learning to read and write in braille,” she said. “Learning sign language will help parents of deaf students communicate, educate, and bond with their children.”

Thank you, Mrs. Gaw and Donors Choose!
