Applied Academic Center
The Applied Academic Center prepares students for jobs or continued education upon graduation. Students are introduced to career opportunities and work experiences with a goal for every graduate to be “College or Career Ready.”
At age 13, students begin initial career exploration through a series of career awareness courses. Students learn the requirements to be successful in various careers or, in other words, “Pathways to Success.”
In high school, students participate in courses that prepare them for their chosen career field. They also have the opportunity to work on and off campus. During work-based learning opportunities, students explore team building and interpersonal skills along with resume building and practicing the interview process.
A team of staff members, state agencies, and businesses assists seniors in obtaining jobs in their chosen fields and transitioning into the work force, or continuing their education.
