It’s been wonderful to hear that our SCSDB family is slowly regaining power. Our schools have continued to make contact with students, exhausting every avenue of communication.
Campus clean-up continues. Most of the trees that were completely down have been cleared; however, there are some areas of campus that are not safe due to trees that are simply being held up by the branches of other trees. We still have some areas of campus without power.
Yesterday, our bus drivers used fleet vehicles to run the local bus routes, checking for closed roads, low hanging power lines and trees, and non-operational traffic lights. We also received guidance from local and state law enforcement regarding the status of the roads. At this time, it is simply not safe to operate our buses. The SCSDB campus will remain closed Monday and Tuesday. As many of our students and staff continue to be without internet, we will not hold e-learning days.
We will reassess early next week to see if enough progress has been made to run our routes safely.
