At the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind (SCSDB), we tailor our reading instruction to accommodate the unique needs of students with sensory disabilities. While traditional reading instruction encompasses oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, not all these elements are applicable to every student.
Our approach ensures that all students receive inclusive, accessible, and effective reading instruction tailored to their sensory needs.
