• Observation and Consultation

    Our Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Education teachers and leaders are available to provide professional assistance in determining the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Assistance to districts and schools may include:

    • Classroom observation and consultation support to:

    General and special education teachers

    Educational interpreters

    Individualized Education Plan team members including speech/language pathologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and school psychologists

    Program administrators

    • Program evaluation involving observations of the physical setting, groupings, and the instructional model used. This can include curriculum evaluation and both formative and summative assessment input.

    • Demonstration/modeling of instructional strategies

    • Consultation with parents or guardians

    • Individualized Education Plan meeting attendance
