We are an Approved RID CMP Sponsor!
Statewide Interpreting Services is an Approved RID Certification Maintenance Program (CMP) Sponsor authorized to not only provide sponsor-initiated activities, but also to co-sponsor other organizations’ activities for continuing education units (CEUs) required for interpreters to maintain national certification. This sponsor status also enables us to approve participant initiated non-RID activities (PINRAs) for professional development activities interpreters may want to attend but are not sponsored by RID. If you are interested in presenting your own materials, need to process PINRAs, or have your organizations activities co-sponsored for CEUs, please reach out to:

Participant Initiated Non-RID Activities (PINRAs)
PINRAs are professional development opportunities interpreters may want to attend but are not sponsored by an approved RID CMP sponsor. As an approved RID CMP sponsor, these events could be approved for CEUs and here is how:
1. Obtain information about the conference, workshop, or seminar you want to attend.2. Contact Dr. Eric Weber at eweber@scsdb.org at least two weeks before the activity to discuss the PINRA to determine whether it is CEU-worthy, which category the activity will fall (general studies vs. professional studies) and how many CEUs can be awarded for the activity. We will then send you a PINRA form to complete and return.
3. Attend the conference or seminar and collect the appropriate documentation.
4. Once the activity is completed, send in your proof of attendance along with a check or money order for a $10 processing fee made payable to SCSDB (please write "PINRA" on memo line). Mail to:SCSDB Division of Outreach Services
Attn: Dr. Eric Weber
101 Executive Center Drive
Suite 120, Saluda Building
Columbia, SC 292105. We will then enter your CEUs.
