    Interpreting Services

    Statewide Interpreting Services employs highly qualified staff and contract interpreters to meet interpreting needs across the entire state in a variety of settings including, but not limited to: 

    • Educational (all levels)
    • Medical (appointments, therapy, hospitals, counseling)
    • Legal
    • Federal, State, and Local Agencies
    • Business (meetings, trainings, interviews)
    • Conferences
    • Performances
    • Social Services
    • Non-profits

    Interpreting services are available on-site and virtually via HIPAA and FERPA compliant video conferencing platform. 

    Professional Qualifications

    Our interpreters are highly qualified professionals, each possessing one or more of the following professional credentials:

    • National certification through the Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf (RID)
    • National certification through the National Association of the Deaf (NAD)
    • An Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score greater than 3.5

    Additionally, many hold advanced degrees and have specialized training.

    Professional Standards

    Our interpreters adhere to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct (CPC). Our professional interpreters:

    • Adhere to standards of confidential communication
    • Possess the professional skills and knowledge required for the specific interpreting situation
    • Conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to the specific interpreting situation
    • Demonstrate respect for consumers
    • Demonstrate respect for colleagues, interns, and students of the profession
    • Maintain ethical business practices
    • Engage in professional development

    Requesting Interpreting Services

    To request interpreting services:

    1.  Complete and submit a Terms of Service Agreement each fiscal year (July 1 - June 30):

    2.  After your Terms of Service Agreement is completed and on file, submit your request by:

    Requests are processed Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. except for observed holidays and closures due to inclement weather. You will need the following information to complete a request:

    • Date, start time, and end time of the assignment
    • Location (physical address) of the assignment
    • Nature of the assignment
    • Name(s) of the consumer(s)
    • On-site point of contact
