Service providers utilize the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in evaluating and planning for the student. A student may have individual and/or group sessions, re-evaluations and re-assessments based upon consultations and evaluations between the student and the professional.

Parents and families of students do not receive bills for health services at the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind. The school receives reimbursements for medical services through the SC Department of Health and Human Services “Partners for Healthy Children” program for Medicaid-eligible students.

Parents may have to pay for a student’s personal equipment or medications, but the staff works with families to identify private insurance or Medicaid funding when possible.
