We proudly celebrated the opening of the newly refurbished science lab at the School for the Deaf with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This milestone marks the successful completion of an initiative driven by the vision and dedication of the school's science staff and the generosity of community sponsors.
Autumn is upon us, and what better way to celebrate the season than by decorating your porch with beautiful Fall plants? Our students have been cultivating a variety of plants to sell to the community, perfect for adding a touch of the season to your home.
We began our year with a focus on presuming competence—the intrinsic belief that our students are highly capable individuals who will grow and thrive with the appropriate supports. Throughout the year, the Buzz has highlighted countless examples of student achievement in academics, clubs, fine arts, athletics, employability/work skills, and social-emotional learning. I hope you enjoy learning about our students and programs!
I hope you have had the opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend time with friends and family over the summer. Prioritizing self-care is so important—especially as we begin the demanding task of welcoming a new school year!
There are so many incredible things going on at SCSDB! I am continuously inspired by the expertise and commitment of our staff, and the resilience, work ethic, and competence of our students.
