Sign language interpreters are in demand in communities across the state of South Carolina. Healthcare facilities, courtrooms and classrooms are just a few of the settings where you might find an interpreter facilitating communication. The Interpreting Services Program employs individuals who are highly skilled in American Sign Language (ASL). All interpreters are qualified in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), through a national certification testing system established by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind (SCSDB) screening process. |
