Kelly’s Kids Child Development Center is an exciting new program on the SCSDB campus that provides a bright early start for babies and toddlers. The program serves children that are blind, deaf or sensory multidisabled as well as children who are typically developing.
The child development center’s name honors the legacy of Marcia Hastay Kelly who dedicated her career to the advocacy and education of children with disabilities.
A partnership between SCSDB and the Spartanburg County First Steps Early Head Start program, Kelly’s Kids serves children that are six weeks to three years of age. It is designed to meet the needs of all children, strengthen families
and provide for transition into programs that best fit their needs.
The highly qualified staff provides a developmentally appropriate and creative curriculum that reflects each child’s
individual growth. Hands-on activities provide a rich learning environment and the flexibility to allow children to develop at their own pace.
The multi-age classroom has a one to four teacher/student ratio, and the children usually remain with the same caregiver the entire time they are in the program.
