Interpreting Services offers certified, highly-qualified sign language interpreters statewide for a variety of settings, including medical, legal, social services, higher education and business.

Interpreters are available for a variety of services, businesses and events, such as:

For Businesses and Services Providers
Businesses and service providers, such as hospitals and government entities, are required by law (Americans with Disabilities Act, Titles I, II and III) to make their services accessible to those requiring an interpreter. SC School for the Deaf and the Blind Interpreting Services makes it easy to meet those interpreter requirements.

For Individuals
If you are an individual needing an interpreter, you are entitled to one through the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All of the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind interpreters meet and/or exceed the guidelines set by the ADA.

Generally, there is no cost to the individual for an interpreter as it is paid for by the business or service provider. Individuals in need of an interpreter should contact a business, doctor’s office, hospital or court directly.
