Comporium
Donates Vehicles to the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind
Budget
limitations have forced the school to delay the purchase of maintenance vehicles,
and the result is that many of the maintenance workers are driving old,
run-down vehicles. Comporium is
donating a 1995 Chevrolet C-3500 truck,
a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 truck and a 1988 Ford F-700 truck to SCSDB. The donated vehicles will replace three
pick-up trucks: a 1969 Ford, a 1974
Dodge and a 1977 Dodge. In January,
2005, Comporium donated a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck and a 1991
Chevrolet AstroVan to the school.
“We
have maximized the use of our old 1970’s model trucks,” said SCSDB President
Sheila Breitweiser. “There are just not
enough words to fully express how grateful we are to Comporium for once again
donating the wonderful gift of vehicles to provide our maintenance crews with
reliable transportation to keep things running smoothly for our students.”
