president of the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind (SCSDB), was recognized
for exemplifying the highest standard of the educational profession and
demonstrating extraordinary commitment to educational excellence for the
education and welfare of deaf/hard-of-hearing persons.
SERID
provides educational and professional development for individuals who work with
individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or deaf-blind. It promotes collaboration between service

SCSDB is accredited by the
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Conference of Educational
Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf and the SC Department of
Education. SCSDB offers programs for
preschool, elementary, middle school, high school, sensory multidisabled,
vocational and postsecondary education students, as well as a variety of
