Duties: |

|
Evaluate, plan and provide a program of
Speech-Language, Communication Therapy and Consultation to Deaf, Blind,
and/or Multi-Handicapped students, within individual, group, co-treatment, or
in-class modes of delivery in alignment with ADEPT and Medicaid requirements.
Complete paperwork as required by the SC State Dept. of Education, Medicaid,
and forms utilized by the Department of Speech and Language. These forms include but are not limited to:
yearly IEP development, quarterly progress summaries, ESY documentation,
documentation of service notes (SOAP), and weekly Medicaid billing. Conduct initial Speech-Language evaluations
including yearly re-assessments on those students assigned to this caseload
and make appropriate recommendations according to the student’s individual
communication need. Participation in
IEP meetings, committees, and other school-related projects. Attend required trainings as designated by
SCSDB, and remain current with the State Department of Education by obtaining
the necessary CEU’s to maintain a valid SC teaching certificate. |

Qualifications: |
|
|
|
|||||
|
Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders
(Speech-Language Pathology), Current South Carolina Department of Education
Teaching Certificate issued in Speech Correction, prior experience in
providing Speech-Language Therapy to special needs students in a clinical or
school setting. Considerable knowledge
in providing Speech-Language-Communication Therapy services to Deaf, Blind
and Multi-Handicapped students, including methods and evaluation techniques,
basic hearing aid functions, and knowledge of assistive devices/alternative
communication and programming preferred.
An understanding of the development of the IEP process according to
the requirements of the SC Department of Education; Medicaid billing process;
and basic computer skills. American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
certification preferred. SCPI Minimum
