Duties:

 

 

 

Provides Occupational Therapy services and treatments as determined by the IEP Committee.  Accurately bills Medicaid for OT Services rendered and completes Medicaid documentation supporting services rendered. Collects and maintains all necessary educational and Medicaid paperwork in OT files for his/her caseload. This includes but is not limited to prescriptions for OT services and durable medical equipment, weekly Medicaid Documentation of Service Notes, Medicaid Progress Reports, Parent Progress Reports, IEP paperwork, and IEP Goal Sheets. Communicates with parents, care-givers, educational, residential, therapeutic, and outside agency staff regarding student services as needed. Submits Score Card and Manager's Report inquires to Department Director by quarterly deadlines. Re-evaluates students on his caseload and the caseloads of Certified OT Assistants he supervises to determine the possible need for OT Services. Writes IEP goals, as appropriate, based on findings from OT Re-Evaluations or Present Levels of Performance.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

 

 

Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist (OTR) in SC; BS Degree with one year experience as an OTR or an MS Degree in Occupational Therapy.  Must be able to work with minimal supervision and possess the competencies to organize occupational therapy services independently.  Must be able to utilize outside resources to resolve technical difficulties and needs.  Experience with children and knowledge of developmental disabilities.  Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques; knowledge of the psychiatric aspects of various disabilities; ability to work effectively with students, families, nursing and other staff members; ability to prepare and evaluate reports, medical histories and departmental records; knowledge and ability to use various assistive technology equipment.  Minimum SCPI Entry Level: None; Goal Skill Level SCPI: Intermediate.
