Duties:
|
|
|
|
|
Provides Physical Therapy services and treatments
as determined by the IEP Committee and supervising PT. Notifies PT of the needs for supervisory
visits in compliance with SC State Law and PT Practice Acts. Assists PT in determining whether PT
services are appropriate and necessary.
Accurately bills Medicaid for PT services rendered and completes
Medicaid documentation supporting services rendered. Writes Medicaid Progress Reports and Parent
Progress Reports in conjunction with supervising PT to document and
communicate students' progress on his/her caseload to Medicaid and students'
caregivers. Collects and maintains all
necessary educational and Medicaid paperwork in OT files for his
caseload. This includes but is not limited
to prescriptions for PT services and durable medical equipment, weekly
Medicaid Documentation of Services Notes, Progress Reports, and communication
with caregivers.

Qualifications:
|
|
|
|
|
Requires an Associate's Degree from a Physical
Therapy Assistant Program. Must be
licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the South Carolina Board of
Physical Therapy Examiners; must also have the ability to work effectively
with students who have multiple sensory disabilities aged 2 to 21 years old;
must also have the ability to establish and maintain effective professional
relationships with staff. Minimum
Entry Level SCPI: Not required. Goal
Skill Level SCPI: Intermediate.
