The athletics program is an integral part of the educational process at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind (SCSDB).  The aim of the athletics program is to develop highly competitive athletes while emphasizing important values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, commitment, fitness and scholastic achievement.

SCSDB is a member of the SC High School School League, Eastern Athletic Association for the Blind (EAAB), the United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) sports program for the Blind, Mason-Dixon Organization, Lange Morrow Walker (LMW) Friendship Classic, Special Olympics, participants in the Viking Classic Basketball Tournament, the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) Spike Out Tournament.
 

SCSDB's Green Hornets Varsity Football Team is the 2008 Deaf National Champions in 8 man football, and the Mason Dixon Champions for the 2008 season!

SCSDB’s Boys’ Goalball Team is the National USABA Youth Goalball Champions for the 2nd consecutive year in a row!

SCSDB’s Varsity Girls Basketball Team holds the title of the 32nd Mason-Dixon Champions!

2009 Girls Track & Field - Paige Darus set a new prep pole vault record with a height of 7' 7"
